Temporal, the Open-Source Durable Execution Platform, Surpasses 1,500 Paying Customers and 130B Monthly Actions on the Platform and Adds First Independent Board Member, Chief Product Officer of MongoDB
SEATTLE – August 14, 2024 – Temporal, a durable execution platform for building and scaling invincible applications faster, today announced the appointment of Sahir Azam, Chief Product Officer of MongoDB, as its first independent board member, to help direct the company as it enters a new phase of hypergrowth.
Temporal is an open-source development model that preserves full application state in the case of any host or software failure. This frees developers to code the features that matter, eliminates distractions like complex plumbing and error logic and makes applications more resilient and scalable. This new development model has countless use cases ranging from payments and money movement, infrastructure provisioning, batch processing, data pipelines, AI/ML training, order processing and more.
The platform recently onboarded its 1,500th paying customer to Temporal Cloud after announcing its 1,000th customer in April, representing a 50% growth in customer base in only two months. New customers include Outreach, Upstart, and Xero, joining Temporal's existing customers such as Snap, Hashicorp, Alaska Airlines, Nvidia, and Brex. Temporal active developers have also grown double-digits month over month, with more than 200k developers now using its Cloud and open-source projects.
Additionally, the Temporal Partner Ecosystem has quadrupled to 36 partners in eight months, and includes market leaders such as AWS, EPAM, KPMG and MongoDB, among others. In the first half of 2024, Temporal collaborated with partners at over 130 customers, with partner service engagements increasing sevenfold versus the prior half. Temporal will continue investing in the ecosystem to enable developers to accelerate their adoption of Durable Execution.
"Temporal's rapid triple-digit growth clearly validates that their unique technology addresses the complexity of developing scalable, modern software," says Azam. "I am excited to join the board of directors and work with Temporal's leadership team to continue to scale and grow the business into a transformative market leader."
Temporal continues to invest in both innovation and talent to better serve its customers. Temporal and MongoDB customers cite application reliability, efficiency, and improving developer productivity as three of the top problems they are trying to solve as they scale up digital operations and focus on their bottom line in the current macroeconomic climate.
"With Sahir's addition to the board, we are stacking the deck in our favor. Sahir is another incredible market leader joining us, and it's a testament to the caliber of talent we're attracting at Temporal," says Samar Abbas, CEO of Temporal. "From the board to our product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams, we've assembled an exceptional bench of industry leaders. We're committed to bringing in the best and brightest in every role across various functions."
