Standalone Activities for durable job processing are now Generally Available

Temporal Activities can now be used standalone as a fully supported, GA capability across Go, Python, Java, .NET, TypeScript, and Ruby SDKs. Standalone Activities give you a durable job queue with built-in retries, timeouts, heartbeats, priority and fairness scheduling, and deduplication, without requiring a Workflow. Jobs are durably persisted and survive crashes, deploys, and restarts. You get first-class visibility and lifecycle controls including cancel, terminate, pause, unpause, and reset directly from the UI, CLI, SDK, and API. Start Delay, the most-requested feature during Public Preview, is also GA, enabling you to schedule jobs to begin at a future time.

Operator commands such as pause, unpause, reset, and update options ship at Public Preview alongside this GA release, and batch operations for cancel, terminate, and delete by query are also available in Public Preview. Pricing remains one Action to start a Standalone Activity, with Start Delay bundled at no additional cost. Retries and heartbeats each cost one Action, consistent with Workflow Activities. Operator commands including pause, reset, and update options now begin billing at one Action each. If you are already using Standalone Activities from the Public Preview, no migration is required. The same Activities you write for standalone use can also be used as steps within Workflows, giving you a clean upgrade path to multi-step orchestration when you need it.
