We’ve got a treat for you this October: our first Temporal Product Edition.
We’re starting a regular series to show you how we’re helping teams build and ship mission-critical applications and agents faster and run them reliably with durable execution. Whether you already use Temporal or are discovering it for the first time, each edition will highlight what you can do, what becomes easier, and how to get started.
For this first edition, we’ll publish a new story each day this week, from building reliable microservices to managing compute, controlling production workloads, and exploring new ideas.
Here’s what’s coming.
Monday: Build microservices that work reliably together as you grow.#
Standalone Nexus Operations lets your applications and agents reuse services built with Nexus by calling them directly through the Temporal SDK. Nexus keeps those long-running calls on track through failures and waits, so you can expand service reuse with less retry, recovery, and progress-tracking code to maintain.
Tuesday: Ship faster with centralized encryption that keeps your sensitive data private.#
Temporal Proxy gives you one place to manage and enforce encryption across applications, without maintaining custom encryption libraries in each one. You have less integration work to repeat as you add applications and agents. Proxy encrypts sensitive application values in your environment using your keys, keeping protected values unreadable to Temporal Cloud while your code and compute stay under your control.
Wednesday: Handle bursts of work without keeping peak compute capacity running.#
Run your code on AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Run with capacity that follows demand, without building your own autoscaler. Temporal tracks progress and coordinates retries, so your application can recover from failures or wait days for approval without keeping compute running throughout. Your code runs in your own cloud account, with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime also available in Pre-release.
Thursday: See what’s happening. Control what happens next.#
Find application work that needs attention and act on it without building custom administration tools. Temporal’s production controls help you see which steps have finished, investigate repeated failures, pause an execution, and adjust retries and timeouts for pending steps. We’ll also cover moving existing workloads to Temporal Cloud so you can spend less time operating Temporal yourself.
Friday: Explore new ideas with working code and the engineers behind it.#
Temporal Labs gives you early open source projects to try, learn from, and adapt, with a way to help shape their direction. You can evaluate approaches for your own applications sooner and share feedback directly with the engineers building them. Labs projects are experiments: they may change or stop receiving investment, and they are not supported product commitments.
We’ll update this post with links as each story goes live. Start with today’s Nexus article, and come back tomorrow for Temporal Proxy.
