Edmondo Porcu

I am a software engineer with 17+ years of experience building scalable data infrastructure and distributed systems across financial services, fintech, biotech, and high growth tech company, currently working at Pinterest. As a CTO of an Italian Fintech, Credimi, I felt the pain of working with legacy workflow engines in 2016. Few years later I was working as head of engineering in a small biotech startup and I was investigating how to build a laboratory management system. I discovered and everything clicked immediately. When I moved back to banking, I immediately saw the leverage that Temporal creates. As a Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, I introduced Temporal to the organization and co-founded the Durable Executions Center of Practice. I am the maintainer of Awesome Durable Executions repository, which I hope is an helpful resources to practitioners. I am also very passionate about data and data infrastructure and I have been involved in the DataFusion community. Besides my day job, I am an active member of the NYC tech community, I regularly participate in meetups such as Rust NYC, NixOS meetup. I have been also participating as a talk reviewer to Gophercon for the last three years.
